Privacy Policy
Effective 8 August 2026
The short version: Planwise is local-first, does not sell your personal information, does not serve advertising, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
This Privacy Policy explains how Planwise (“Planwise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Planwise mobile application, website, and related services (together, the “Service”).
1. Information we handle
Information stored on your device
Your tasks, notes, routines, schedule, preferences, sleep and wake times, reminder settings, and progress data are stored locally on your device. We do not receive this information unless you choose a feature that sends it to our service, such as cloud backup or sharing a task.
Account and cloud backup
If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-provided account identifier and, if Apple makes it available, your email address (which may be an Apple private relay address). If cloud backup is enabled, your planner state is stored in our Supabase-hosted database so it can be restored. You can use core planning features without creating an account.
Friends and Collaboration
If you opt into collaboration features, we process the display name you choose, an invite code, friendship connections, current streak and streak date, and tasks you intentionally share. Friends you approve can see the profile and task information the feature identifies as shared.
Purchases
Apple processes payments and billing information. RevenueCat helps us determine products, purchase status, and entitlement status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Support and website
If you contact us, we receive the information in your message, such as your email address and support request. Our website does not intentionally use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. Our hosting provider may process basic request data, such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and security logs, to deliver and protect the site.
2. Device permissions
Notifications are the only device permission Planwise currently requests. If you allow notifications, Planwise uses them to deliver local task reminders and the optional weekly planning nudge you configure. Notification content and schedules are created on your device. You can decline the permission and still use the app, or change it at any time in iOS Settings.
Planwise does not request access to your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, calendars, health data, or tracking permission. Choosing an icon that depicts one of these items does not access the corresponding device data.
3. Apple Intelligence
On supported devices, Planwise may use Apple’s on-device Foundation Models to turn a prompt you provide into task suggestions. This processing occurs on your device; Planwise does not send those prompts to our servers. Availability and handling by Apple technologies remain subject to Apple’s applicable terms and device settings.
4. How we use information
We use information only as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and support the Service; authenticate accounts; sync and restore data you ask us to back up; operate sharing and leaderboard features you choose; verify premium access; respond to support requests; comply with law; and prevent fraud or abuse. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.
5. Service providers
We use service providers that process data on our behalf or provide their own platform services: Apple (authentication, purchases, notifications, and on-device intelligence), Supabase (authentication and cloud database), RevenueCat (subscription and entitlement management), and Vercel (website hosting). We require providers that process personal information for us to provide the same or an equivalent level of protection described in this policy and required by applicable law and Apple’s guidelines. Their handling of information is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy notices.
6. Legal bases and disclosures
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process data to perform our contract with you, based on your consent for optional features, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and to comply with legal obligations. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, in connection with a business transaction, or to service providers under appropriate obligations. We do not permit service providers to use your information for their own advertising.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it, reset the app, or remove the app (subject to device backups controlled by you or Apple). Cloud account and backup data remain while your account is active. You can permanently delete your cloud account and associated backup from the app’s account/reset controls. Collaboration features also provide controls to remove friends or leave the leaderboard. We may retain limited records where required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, or financial-record obligations. Support messages are retained only as reasonably necessary to resolve and document the request.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including access controls designed to keep each user’s cloud data scoped to their account. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International transfers and your rights
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, with protections appropriate to applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information, or object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. You may exercise available in-app controls or contact us. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
